Rheumatology Care

Your Trusted Source for Rheumatology Care in North Houston

Rheumatic diseases present with a host of symptoms that vary in severity and prognosis. Are you bothered by swelling, tenderness or constant pain in your joints? Do you suffer from an unexplained illness that remains unresolved? Do you experience unusual warmth or redness around joints or patches of rash or discolored skin? Answering ‘yes’ to any of these questions is a clear indication that you may need to schedule a visit with the rheumatologists at Northwest Diagnostic Clinic.

Whether your symptoms are triggered by an illness or by wear and tear on joints from injury or over use, the common denominator in any rheumatic illness is the need for early evaluation by a caring and compassionate healthcare provider who can develop a treatment plan to make sure you experience the best quality of life possible. Drs. Carmen Perez-Masuelli and Leslie Wilson are highly experienced board certified rheumatologists who bring relief to thousands of patients suffering from a variety of rheumatic diseases.

Over their many years of treating patients in North Houston, they have brought relief to those who suffer from the pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Systemic Lupus, Sjogren’s, Dermatomyositis, Scleroderma, Raynaud’s Phenomenon, Vasculitis, Gout, Osteoporosis, Bursitis, Osteoarthritis, Tendonitis, and a host of other rheumatic ailments. These ailments and diseases are often systemic and require a thorough investigation to determine the root cause and best course of treatment. The diagnostic process is very much like putting together the pieces of a puzzle and, as Dr. Wilson states, “it’s a complex field that often involves more than the joints, so we ask a lot of questions starting with the patient’s medical history.” Furthermore, because these conditions can affect other systems in the body, the doctors collaborate closely with a team of primary care physicians, as well as subspecialists that include pulmonology, dermatology, orthopedists, and other subspecialties. The key to stopping or slowing down the progression of these conditions is early detection and treatment.

Not only do patients at Northwest Diagnostic Clinic benefit from two of the area’s leading rheumatologists but the on-site imaging and lab services add to the convenience and affordable care. There is also an on-site infusion suite is located in the same area as the doctor’s office to carry out infusion therapy treatments. Moreover, a specially trained support team of nurses, assistants and technicians ensure that patients are treated with respect and kindness. In most cases, they tend to form a close bond with their patients throughout the course of their treatment.
